Simple SoapCalc is operated by Redefined Threads LLC ("we", "our", or "us"), based in the United States. We're committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our services, including our mobile application and ChatGPT integration.

Short version: We only collect the data needed to run Simple SoapCalc. We never sell your data, never use it for advertising, and never track you across apps or websites. Our analytics never include the contents of your recipes, and you can delete your data anytime.

To understand how Simple SoapCalc is used — and where we can make it better — we use PostHog for usage analytics across the app, website, and ChatGPT. We never collect the contents of your recipes — no exact percentages, no recipe names — only big-picture signals:

If you're signed in, these events can be tied to your account — which means you're in control of them: the same access, export, and deletion rights that cover the rest of your data apply here too (see "Your Data Rights" below). If you're not signed in, we don't collect anything that identifies you.

Recipe Imports and Suggestions

Your lye, water, and recipe calculations always run on your device.

We use Anthropic's Claude for a few things around them: reading recipes you import (photo text, or pasted text if you tap "Deeper scan"), and writing suggestions and explanations in Blend Advisor, Oil Swap, and Batch Analyzer. For these, we send your recipe details, never your name, email, or account.

Anything visible in what you import is included, so crop out names or photos you'd rather not share. Anthropic doesn't use this data to train its models. We don't store your imports or recipe details; we only keep usage records with your account until you delete it.
